Overview: Babies' Room
Wyndarra’s Babies’ Room caters for babies from approximately six (6) weeks to eighteen (18) months of age.
The play room has a large soft carpet area to accommodate for small play spaces for all children. This is to ensure that children have access to a variety of learning opportunities with comfort and one on one time with educators. With a wet area for meals and messy art. The babies room provides a safe space for children, as it is a warm and familiar environment.
The educators ensure the curriculum supports the needs and development of all the children in their environment using their room space wisely.
The children’s sleep area is separate to the play area to allow the children a peaceful rest in a dark quiet environment, while the children who are not ready for a sleep can continue their play. To ensure adequate supervision of the sleep room, a large view window runs the full length of the room. There is a baby monitor so educators are able to listen to the children. A buzzer sounds every three minutes that alerts when it’s time for the educators to go into the room for an additional visual check.
The babies outdoor yard is set daily for the babies, with Softfall mats and toys for the babies that are rolling and crawling, as well as large climbing equipment and sensory experiences for the older children.
We have places for 16 children in this room. Room ratio 1 staff per four (4) children.
